One way to briefly explore the family tree data, is to focus on each ancestor for which we have not been able to confirm their ancestors or roots. These people have essentially become roadblocks or dead ends preventing the tree from growing further into history. Below is a list of persons needing more research.
Martin Radke married Ernistine Kluk and had at least seven children, including Theodore William Radke (August 3, 1883 – June 3, 1968) and Bertha O. Radke (August 5, 1876 - March 07, 1954. Theodore and Bertha, born in Russia (but spoke German), immigrated to America in 1890, lived in Berrien County, Michigan, and died in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In 1909, Theodore married Julia Ann Piland (September 27, 1884 – February 27, 1974). Julia (Anna) was born in Independence, Illinois.
Thomas Gypson Piland, born about 1821 in Kentucky and died about 1865 in Illinois. He married Kittie Hogan and they had ten children, including George Washington Piland (May 20, 1845 in Thompsonville, Kentucky - November 20, 1927 in Eldorado, Illinois). They went to Southern Illinois after being burned out of Kentucky by "that damned Yankee army".
Francisco Joreman Fernandez was born in April 1857 in Spain. He immigrated to New York City in either 1872 or 1880. Around 1881, he married Katherine DeSoto and they had four children. Between 1900 and 1905 the family relocated to Tampa, Florida. Francisco died about 1925 and Katherine on February 26, 1954.
Ferdinand Thomas (born Germany) married Amelia Hausen (born Germany) and had at least one child: Frederick Adolph Thomas, born Feb 17, 1846 in Lawrence Furnace, Lawrence, Ohio. Ferdinand and Amelia died of cholera in 1849 in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana.
David Carson, born about 1841 and died about 1804 in Abingdon, Washington County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth Dysart about 1765 in Virginia and they had nine children, some of which relocated to Rockcastle County, Kentucky.
James Holman (Holeman, Holdman) was born about 1814 in Virginia/Kentucky. On June 4, 1835 in Madison County, Kentucky, he married Martha Ramsey who was born about 1815 in Virginia/Kentucky and they had eleven children. James may be the son of James Marion Holman, born about 1770 in Rowan County, North Carolina.
Angus Clark married Elizabeth Green, daughter of Revolutionary patriot Nehemiah Green, and emigrated from Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Champaign County,
Ohio in 1826 and purchased a farm in Rush Township. Mr. Clark died in 1859, leaving an estate valued at $60,000.
Elizabeth Green Clark died on March 20, 1881 at age ninety-one.
Frances Mary Wright, born June 20, 1896 in New York and died April 1966 in Pennsylvania.
Francis Rudolph, born about 1791 in Germany. About 1820 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he married
Katherine Leichtenberger, born about 1777 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. They lived on a farm that became
"market square" in downtown Pittsburgh.
James Simpson Bethel (May 20, 1836 – June 16, 1915) married Lucinda Jenkins (November 28, 1836 – September 25, 1914) in Belmont, Ohio on December 14, 1854.
Amasa Harrold (1815 - about 1906) married Naomi Naylor (August 7, 1821 - 1904) in Belmont, Ohio on June 22, 1847.
