Our Family Tree

A recent hobby has been gathering information for our family tree.    Although the entire tree is not attached here, you can find some of the information below.   For details, please contact Dan.

I ask that you don't share this info with anyone outside of the family (there's a lot of personal info and we've just finished with an episode of stolen identity).    We should NOT share this information with the "World Family Tree", or post it on one of the many genealogy web sites on the internet.   Part of the reasoning behind this request is in consideration of family member's privacy.    There is also a concern of unethical persons using this information (i.e. Mother's maiden name), to access additional private records that should be kept private.   Theft of identity is becoming more common each year, and we don't want to make this type of illegal activity any easier than it already is.

Therefore, again, please keep this information private, and within the family.  But, please, share it with your children, grandchildren, cousins, uncles ...

Our family tree was created from the input of many families.   The source names of those individuals are included when they were available.    Although there are some larger  families listed (Craighead, Cushing, Moore, Nash, Sadler, Smith, Stewart, Titus, Whitman), those in our immediate family tree include:   Bethel, Carson, Doty, Griffin, Gwynn, Hoard, Holman, Matano, Pinckney, Piland, Stubbs, and Rudolph.

The goal of this family tree is to document as many relatives as possible, by either blood or marriage (or legal adoption).   With a tree this large (over 50,000 names), it is often difficult to find a trace from one name to another.   With this in mind, I have listed some of the more interesting names below.

Several of our relatives arrived in America aboard the Mayflower:

We also have several famous names on this list:

If you enjoy puzzles, or a challenging maze, a tree this large usually has several possible paths from one person to another.    Try and link yourself to someone famous.   Assuming you don't have a few hours to try this, below you will find a trace of names along the family tree from Cyndi Radke to Benjamin Franklin:
